Symphony No.1 "The Berkshires" (2011)

The Berkshires of Massachusetts, where I live, effortlessly blend rural living and breathtaking natural vistas with high culture. The symphony takes four of the area's landmarks, each in its own season, for each of its four movements.

1. Tanglewood - Summer home of the Boston Symphony:
2. The jagged ice encrusted rocks of Ice Glen in the winter (a virtuoso movement for the percussion section of the orchestra):
3. Peaceful Woods Pond in spring (a mini-violin concerto), reflecting the surrounding green hills in its mirror-like surface:
4. And finally the hunting season on October Mountain in late fall, when gunshots rend the air and disturb the peaceful slumber of the forest:
