101 Soundbite Symphonies - a celebration of short attention span

Picture

Numbers have always seemed magical to me, the way a one (a single thing) when coupled with a zero (a nothing) somehow turns into a ten (10), or how an 8 lying down suddenly becomes infinite ∞. At school my boundless enthusiasm for numbers unfortunately stood in inverse proportion to my mathematical achievements. Which is to say I sucked at math. So I became a musician rather than a mathematician. Close enough I figured. Hadn't the great mathematician Leibnitz, the co-inventor of calculus, described music as "audible mathematics"?
Some numbers instantly evoke images of specific events or situations; 9/11, 24/7, 911. But why limit our response to the mind's eye? What kind of musical memory or emotional echo does a number evoke?
Here then are my sonic associations with EVERY number –– from 1 to 101.
